We are an independent family run Timber Importer & Timber Merchant and have continued to be a successful business within the timber industry with prospective growth plans for the future. We produce bespoke, high-end timber & timber products.

We sell timber as well as general building and DIY materials to a mix of trade and general public customers.

Class 2 Driver

We are recruiting for a Class 2 Driver to work at Trafford Park.

Drivers are a vital part of the Team. You will be responsible for delivering of Timber to our Customers, within a specific area and in a safe and effective way, caring for your vehicle and providing excellent customer service standards to all. The majority of our vehicles are curtain siders.

Key Responsibilities of the Driver

– Preparing the vehicle by conducting operator maintenance, reporting any defects to the Transport Manager.

– Ensuring all products for a delivery are correct and that they have been loaded correctly and safely

– Responsible for completing the daily paperwork

– Execute any special requests as directed on the delivery note

– Be friendly and polite to customers at all times.

– To complete daily walk-around check and ensure that check sheets are passed to the transport manager.

– To permanently maintain contact with the transport department and announce any issues as soon as they arise.

– The ability to help the customers as much as you can.

– Off loading of the vehicle is approximately seventy percent with mechanical aid and thirty percent hand ball.

– Be able to use ratchet straps for securing loads.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience required by the Driver

– Good safety practices and driving habits

– Class 2 licence

– Digital tacho card

– CPC

– Moffett licence

– A good understanding of Drivers hours and regulations

– Excellent customer service skills

– Attention to details

We are looking for committed drivers who like their job and can deliver great services. Good driving skills, good attitude towards work, great customer service skills.

We may provide further training for the successful candidate to enable you to enhance your driving career within in company.

You must be able to work between the following hours:

  • Monday to Friday 06.00am – Finish

The total basic hours worked in any one week is 47hours, anything over this will be classed as overtime.

You will be paid based on 47 hours worked per week, although once you have completed all your jobs you are free to finish with the permission of the transport manager.

Any hours worked between thirty nine (39) and forty seven (47) a bonus will be paid and also an attendance bonus is paid weekly. (Some terms and conditions apply)

Salary dependent upon experience.

The successful candidate will be expected to work as part of a team, as well as mostly on their own initiative. You are required to have the ability to overcome problems. The candidate should be committed, hardworking, have the willingness to learn and to develop new skills and working practices. You would also be required to have excellent attendance and punctuality levels. Manual handling training & knowledge of health & safety are a requirement.

We would expect the candidate to comply with all company rules, policies and procedures, also to adhere to the company’s Health and Safety Policy and the wearing of PPE where required. (The company will provide all PPE required and uniform is provided)

Experienced Side Loader and Counterbalance FLT Driver with Timber knowledge

We now have an immediate requirement for an experienced Side Loader and Counterbalance FLT Driver with Timber knowledge to join our team.

The Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Side Loader and Counterbalance FLT Driver with Timber knowledge to work at Trafford Park. 

FLT Drivers are a vital part of the Mill & Yard team. You will contribute to us achieving the highest level output efficiency’s whilst maintaining the highest quality standards and ensuring that the working environment is kept safe at all times. You will be used to working in a high volume environment. You will assist the Yard/Mill with selecting timber for orders for the Yard and Mill and also loading and unloading of the LGV’s. All required training will be provided for the successful candidate although previous experience within the timber industry & knowledge of Health & Safety requirements in loading, unloading and securing loads would be an advantage. You will be required to work under the instruction of the Yard/Mill and Loading management, and assist others where required.

The successful candidate will be expected to work as part of a team, as well as on their own initiative. You are required to have the ability to overcome problems. The candidate should be committed, hardworking, have the willingness to learn and to develop new skills and working practices. You would also be required to have excellent attendance and punctuality levels.

Rate of pay is currently set above the government’s national living wage for over 25 years of age. You will be paid on a salary basis and this will be determined upon the candidate’s previous experience. This will be reviewed at the company’s discretion. 

Wood Machinist

We now have an immediate requirement for an experienced Wood Machinist to join our team.

The Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Wood Machinist to work in our Production Mill at Trafford Park.

You will be used to working in a high volume environment and will be able to consistently deliver results working under pressure. You should have a passion for timber manufacturing and able to work to achieve a high standard of accuracy and detail in hardwood & softwood timber mouldings. Experience on multi head moulder i.e Wadkin or Weinig would be an advantage.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years experience and full working knowledge of woodworking machinery. Training can be provided to develop and complement existing skills. The candidate is expected to be able to work as part of a team, as well as on their own initiative. The candidate should be committed, hardworking and is required to have excellent attendance and punctuality levels.

We would expect the candidate to comply with all company rules, policies and procedures, also to adhere to the company’s Health and Safety Policy and the wearing of PPE where required. (The company will provide all PPE required)

External Sales

We now have an immediate requirement for an External Sales person to join our team.

The Role

We are recruiting for an External Sales person who already has some knowledge of the building industry and its requirements. You will be targeting the companies involved in the house building sector, aiming to meet there requirements in the supply of materials i.e, Timber, Sheet Materials, Insulation, Doors, Ironmongery etc.

You will be expected to effectively communicate with new and existing customers, calling on site, telephoning, emailing, sending letters etc to enable you to build strong relationships at buyer and site level.

You will be working within the Northwest area.

You will be responsible for processing of customer orders, liaising with internal sales team with expected delivery dates and stock availability and keeping the customer updated with the progress of their order.

You will be expected to attend any internal sales meeting and may be required to work in the office from time to time.

Previous product knowledge in the timber industry is essential and some trade counter experience would be an advantage. You would also be required to have excellent attendance and punctuality levels.

Internal Sales Co-ordinator

We now have an immediate requirement for an Internal Sales Co-ordinator to join our team.

The Role

We are recruiting for an Internal Sales Co-ordinator to join our sales team at Trafford Park. We are looking for someone who already has some knowledge of the timber industry, i.e hardwood and softwood.

You will be expected to effectively communicate with new and existing customers, telephoning, emailing, sending letters etc to enable you to build strong relationships at buyer and site level. You will also be liaising with External Sales Representatives, processing orders for them where necessary, updating them with any changes to orders etc. You will be required to complete internal sales orders, following up sales enquiries and delivery schedules, ensuring all queries are dealt with in a proactive and timely manner.

Previous product knowledge in the timber industry is essential. You would be required to have professional office and administrative skills and to have excellent attendance and punctuality levels.

Semi-skilled Joiner

We now have an immediate requirement for a semi-skilled Joiner to join our manufacturing team.

The Role

We are recruiting for a semi-skilled joiner to work in our Manufacturing Department at Trafford Park.

You will be used to working in a high volume environment and will be able to consistently deliver results working under pressure. You should have a passion for timber products and able to work to achieve a high standard of accuracy and detail in timber frames and panels. You will be working from start to finish on projects for conservatories, windows and doors. This would involve profiled and jointed work by hand and machined, assembly of products by hand, configuration of recesses for glass insertion, and finishing/rebuilding of products including coatings, primary to top coat, fitting of handles/glass/locks & hinges, ensuring the highest quality standards are adhered to.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 year’s experience and full working knowledge and safe use of joinery powered machinery and hand tools. Training can be provided to develop and complement existing skills. The candidate is expected to be able to work as part of a team, as well as on their own initiative. You are required to have the ability to overcome problems as cost affective as possible without deviating from customer requirements and as a matter of urgency in some circumstances. The candidate should be committed, hardworking, have the willingness to learn and to develop and share new and best working practices. You would also be required to have excellent attendance and punctuality levels.
